L`entraîneur portugais Luís Magalhães pourra assumer la commande de l`équipe sénior masculine de basket-ball de 1º de Agosto en 2008, a appris l`Angop de source officielle.
Dans son édition de lundi, le "jornal dos Desportos (DP) écrit que le nouvel entraîneur arriverait le 03 janvier pour signer un contrat dont la durée n`a pas été révélée.

Si cette information se confirmait, le Portugais remplacera l`Angolais Jaime Covilhã, qui devra aller en formation au Brésil.
Âgé de 45 ans, Luís Magalhães a entraîné l`Ovarence durant une année et demi et a remporté plusieurs titres.
1º de Agosto envisage de reconquérir le statut de l`équipe gagnante dans la période 1999/2005, lorsqu`elle remportait toutes les compétions.
L`hégemonie lui a été retirée par Petro de Luanda, vainqueur du championnat nationale dans les époques 2006 et 2007 et la coupe d`Afrique des clubs, édition 2006, mais la prétention de la formation des "militaires" parait tenir avec la reconquête cette année de la coupe d`Afrique .
